Child & Adolescent Psychology

Child and Adolescent Psychology

Welcome to Bayside Psychology’s team of child and adolescent psychologists who are also mostly clinical psychologists and former primary or secondary school teachers.

We specialise in working with adolescents and children who are experiencing some of the very significant difficult challenges faced by young children and teenagers growing up in an ever changing and complicated world.

Child and adolescent psychology is closely connected with educational psychology but much broader in scope.

Educational psychologists tend to deal with more school-based developmental learning and behaviour problems whereas our clinical and developmental psychologists also work more broadly with a wider range of emotional, relational, social and psychological problems. Most commonly these include anxiety related disorders, fears and phobias, depression, relationship difficulties, bullying, issues regarding self-esteem, family problems, sexual issues, anger difficulties, alcohol and drugs, issues with pornography, eating and sleeping problems, exam preparation, a further education and vocational aspirations.

Our practice provides a welcoming child-safe environment which encourages children to participate in our therapy and treatment programs.

All of our psychologists hold working with children certifications and abide by the professional standards required by the APS code and ethical conduct.

All sessions are strictly confidential and our practice is open Monday to Friday from 9am till 6pm.
